Croatia’s tennis superstar Donna Vekic has begun preparing for 2025 under a new tutor — Sascha Bajin. Bajin has joined Vekic’s team only a couple of weeks after the latter split with Nikola Horvat in November.

Bajin carries the experience of training Japan’s Naomi Osaka to two Grand Slam titles — US Open (2017) and Australian Open (2019). Moreover, the decorated coach from Germany helped Czech Karolina Pliskova reach the Wimbledon final in 2021.

Vekic, the 2024 Paris Olympics silver medalist, announced Bajin’s arrival to her contingent on Friday (December 6) through a social media post.

The WTA conferred the Coach of the Year award on Bajin in 2018. Before pairing up with Vekic, he trained American Alycia Parks, with whom he parted ways after the 2024 Miami Open.
