American Alycia Parks, the No 3 seed, advanced to the last four of the Open In Arte Angers Loire by winning against Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 7-6 (4), 6-3 on Friday.
Parks, ranked No 103, will play German Mona Barthel next.
Ahead of her victory, the American beat French wildcard Julie Belgraver (6-2, 6-4) and German Tamara Korpatsch (7-6 (3), 6-2).
Jimenez Kasintseva, ranked No 159, won against French wildcard Sara Cakarevic (6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-1) and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 7-6 (4)) earlier in the tournament.
