Carlos Alcaraz has set his sights on completing a career Grand Slam at the 2025 Australian Open. He revealed the same after defeating Ben Shelton (4-6, 6-2, 1-0) in an exhibition held at the Madison Square Garden, New York, on Wednesday (December 4).

Alcaraz has already conquered the French Open (2024), Wimbledon (2023-24), and the US Open (2022) but not reached further than the quarter-finals (2024) at the Australian Open — the missing piece of his career’s Grand Slam puzzle.

Thus, the Spaniard vowed to fight for the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup when he lands in Melbourne in January 2025.

“The only Grand Slam that I miss is Australian Open,” the world No 3 told Tennis Channel in New York. “So I go for it. Hopefully in 2025, I’ll make it, you know, this big and really important goal for me to come into the season. But it’s always difficult to approach a Grand Slam. A lot of players who’re working really really hard to make it but you know, I have to put big goals on myself, on my back and hopefully make in 2025.”
