IEB + Argentina Open: Kawa into final

Pole Katarzyna Kawa moved into the final of the IEB + Argentina Open by winning against Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 3 seed, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday evening.
Kawa, ranked No 296, will face the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 4 seed, and Sara Bejlek next.
Ahead of her victory, the Pole beat American Varvara Lepchenko, the No 9 seed (2-6, 6-2, 6-4), Hungarian Panna Udvardy (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 7 seed (3-6, 7-5, 6-4).
Carle, ranked No 92, defeated qualifier Victoria Bosio (6-4, 6-2), Spaniard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales (6-0, 6-4) and No 6 seed Julia Riera (6-1, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
