Paul, Auger-Aliassime sign up for Adelaide International 2025; Paolini, Navarro join WTA line-up
Kokkinakis, Korda are among the participants at ATP 250 event. Pegula and Krejcikova will add to the packed WTA 500 field
It’s still more than 30 days to New Year but the tennis world has already begun its preparations for the 2025 season. Like every year, Australia will be the first host to new aspirations and resolutions, with the on-court action kicking off at United Cup.
The men and women will travel across the land Down Under to compete in multiple cities, including Adelaide which will host ATP 250 and WTA 500 tournaments from January 6-11.
On the men’s side, the competition has been shaping up nicely with the likes of world No 12 Tommy Paul and No 29 Felix Auger-Aliassime signing up for 2025 Adelaide International. The two find themselves among home favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis and world No 22 Sebastian Korda.
“I’ve always enjoyed my stay in Adelaide and that’s why I’ve chosen to come back in 2025 for the third time in my career,” Auger-Aliassime told tournament organisers. “I think it will be a perfect preparation for me after the United Cup and just before playing the Australian Open.”
The women’s event is bracing for an even tighter field with world No 4 Jasmine Paolini, No 8 Emma Navarro, current Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, and world No 7 Jessica Pegula, and No 13 Diana Shnaider putting their hands up for the WTA 500 trophy.
“I am super excited to come play at the Adelaide International in 2025,” said Navarro. “I think it will be a great lead up to the Australian Open and I am looking forward to getting some good matches in and seeing some of Adelaide.”
