Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 8 seed, won against Italian qualifier Nicole Fossa Huergo 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the IEB + Argentina Open on Tuesday evening.
Pigossi, ranked No 131, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Luisina Giovannini and wildcard Jazmin Ortenzi next.
