Fils, Michelsen, Mensik and Shang qualify for Next Gen ATP Finals

The first four players for the Next Gen ATP Finals to be held next month in Jeddah have been confirmed.

Arthur Fils, Alex Michelsen, Jakub Mensik and Shang Juncheng have secured their spots for the 20-and-under event which will be held from December 18 to 22.

Fils, who reached the final of this event last year, leads the pack with a current ranking of No 20 after claiming ATP 500 titles in Hamburg and Basel in 2024.

Michelsen, who also qualified last year, is currently ranked No 42 in the world after reaching the final in Newport and Winston-Salem.

Mensik and Shang have qualified for the event for the first time. Mensik is currently 48th in the world after reaching the Doha final and reaching the Shanghai Masters quarter-final. Shang is ranked 50th in the world and won the ATP Chengdu Open to become only the second player from China to win an ATP singles title.

The other four qualifiers will be determined in the coming weeks with ATP Challengers continuing to be held over the few weeks.
