Mexican Renata Zarazua, the top seed, won the Fifth Third Charleston 125 2 title by beating American Hanna Chang, the No 7 seed, 6-1, 7-6 (4) on Sunday.
Ahead of her victory, Zarazua, ranked No 60, defeated Russian Alina Charaeva (6-2, 7-6 (5)), Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela (6-2, 6-1), American Louisa Chirico, the No 6 seed (6-2, 6-4) and American wildcard Lauren Davis (3-6, 7-6 (3), 3-0 ret.).
Chang, ranked No 194, beat wildcard Madison Sieg (6-4, 6-3), Liv Hovde (6-2, 6-3), No 3 seed Varvara Lepchenko (6-4, 2-6, 7-5) and Italian Nuria Brancaccio (7-5, 0-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
