Francesca Jones won against Romanian Miriam Bulgaru 6-4, 7-6 (3) to advance to the last 16 of the Cali Open on Tuesday evening.
Jones, ranked No 163, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet, the No 4 seed, and Slovak Veronika Erjavec next.
