Mérida Open: Stakusic advances to second round

Canadian Marina Stakusic edged out Australian Maya Joint 2-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (2) to move into the second round of the Mérida Open at the Yucatan Country Club on Wednesday evening.

Stakusic, ranked No 116, will face Serb Nina Stojanovic next.
