Paris Masters: Alcaraz books spot in last 16

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry 7-5, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena on Tuesday.
“It was really important to get the first set and and come to the second set with a lot of confidence and playing great tennis,” he said afterwards.
Alcaraz, ranked No 2, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 15 seed, and American qualifier Marcos Giron next.
In the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament, Jarry, ranked No 37, won against Italian qualifier Lorenzo Sonego (7-6 (4), 6-3).
