Jiangxi Open: Zheng Saisai beats Fett for first win since 2021

Chinese wildcard Zheng Saisai edged out Croat Jana Fett 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Jiangxi Open on Tuesday.

This was the 30-year-old’s first win since November 2021 on the tour. Zheng returned to the tour earlier this year after missing the 2022 and 2023 seasons. She went 0-9 in her first nine tournaments before winning her match on Tuesday.

The former world No 34 will face the winner of the match between Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 7 seed, and Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew next.
