Vienna Open: De Minaur through to last eight as Cobolli retires injured

Australian Alex De Minaur, the second seed, advanced to the last eight of the Vienna Open when Italian Flavio Cobolli retired at the Wiener Stadthalle.

De Minaur, ranked No 10, led 7-6 (2), 3-1 when Cobolli, ranked No 31, pulled out at the Wiener Stadthalle on Thursday evening.

The Australian will face qualifier Jakub Mensik next.

In the previous round of the Vienna tournament, Alex De Minaur won against German Jan-Lennard Struff (2-6, 6-2, 6-2).

The 22-year-old Italian beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (7-6 (1), 6-3) during the first round of the Vienna tournament.
