Djokovic confirms he will not play Paris Masters; no word on ATP Finals
The 24-time Grand Slam champion may not play again this year, which would mean missing the ATP Finals in Turin
Novak Djokovic confirmed on Wednesday that he will not play next week’s Paris Masters in Bercy, the last counting event for next month’s ATP Finals.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion revealed the news on Instagram, saying he hoped to return next year. However, he offered no word on whether he will play in the ATP Finals in Turin, which would mean he would not play again this year.
The news was widely anticipated and announced in an article in Serbia by Tennis Majors contributor Sasa Ozmo earlier this week.
Djokovic is in danger of not qualifying for the ATP Finals. The 37-year-old sits in sixth place in the ATP Race but could be overtaken in the last two weeks of competition.
The eight-man ATP Finals begin in Turin on November 10.
