Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the top seed, advanced to the last 16 of the WTA $125K Abierto Tampico by winning against Indian qualifier Sahaja Yamalapalli 7-5, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 97, will face Italian Lucrezia Stefanini next.
