Swiss Indoors: Shelton too good for Etcheverry, eases into second round

American Ben Shelton, the No 6 seed, advanced to the second round of the Swiss Indoors by winning against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-4 at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel.

Shelton, ranked No 23, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Adrian Mannarino and Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka next.
