Guangzhou Open: Yuan defeats Minnen to move into second round

China’s Yue Yuan, the No 3 seed, won against Belgian Greet Minnen 7-6 (2), 6-1 to advance to the second round of the Guangzhou Open at the Nansha International Tennis Center on Tuesday.

Yuan, ranked No 44, will play Thai qualifier Mananchaya Sawangkaew next.
