Almaty Open: Khachanov books spot in semi-finals
Karen Khachanov won against Beibit Zhukayev 6-2, 6-4 on Friday and will face Australian Aleksandar Vukic in the next round

Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 3 seed, won against Kazakh wildcard Beibit Zhukayev 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the last four of the Almaty Open at Almaty Arena on Friday afternoon.
Khachanov, ranked No 26, will face Australian Aleksandar Vukic next.
The Russian beat Finn Otto Virtanen (7-6 (2), 7-6 (3)) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Zhukayev, ranked No 213, won against Lebanese qualifier Benjamin Hassan (6-4, 6-1) and No 5 seed Tomas Machac (3-1 ret.).
