Almaty Open: Karatsev upsets Zheng to reach second round
Aslan Karatsev won against Zhizhen Zhang 6-4, 7-6 (2) on Tuesday afternoon and will play the winner of the match between Alexander Shevchenko and qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin in the next round

Russian qualifier Aslan Karatsev reached the second round of the Almaty Open by defeating Chinese Zhizhen Zhang, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (2) at Almaty Arena on Tuesday afternoon.
Karatsev, ranked No 139, will play the winner of the match between Alexander Shevchenko and qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin next.
