Dane Clara Tauson, the No 6 seed, reached the last 4 of the Hong Kong 125 Open by winning against Japanese Nao Hibino 6-1, 6-1 on Friday night.
Tauson, ranked No 72, will face the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens and Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old Dane beat Italian Martina Trevisan (6-3, 7-5) and edged out American qualifier Varvara Lepchenko (2-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Hibino, ranked No 145, won against Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the second seed (6-2, 7-6 (5)) and Hungarian Dalma Galfi (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
