Shanghai Masters: Safiullin makes second round

Russian Roman Safiullin defeated Kazakh qualifier Beibit Zhukayev 7-6, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Shanghai Masters at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center on Thursday.

Safiullin, ranked No 69, will face No 23 seed Alexander Bublik next.
