Raducanu misses Wuhan Open qualifiers
Emma Raducanu suffered an injury during the Korea Open and consequently withdrew from the China Open
Brit Emma Raducanu has missed the Wuhan Open qualifying draw. She appeared on the entry list of the WTA 1000 qualifiers but her name hasn’t made the acceptance register.
This comes after Raducanu withdrew from the China Open due to a foot injury she sustained during the Korea Open. She made an impressive run in Seoul before being forced to abandon her quarter-final clash against Russian Daria Kasatkina (trailing 6-1).
The Wuhan Open recently released the official list of main draw and qualifying participants slated to take the courts from October 7 to 13, with Raducanu’s name missing.
The former US Open champion made great strides to become the world No 54 in the WTA singles rankings after having begun the 2024 season outside the Top 300.
The former world No 10 is on the verge of breaking into the Top 50, the list she hasn’t featured since August 2022.
