American qualifier Varvara Lepchenko reached the last 16 of the Hong Kong 125 Open by edging out Linda Fruhvirtova 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 on Tuesday.
Lepchenko, ranked No 165, will face the winner of the match between Dane Clara Tauson, the No 6 seed, and Italian Martina Trevisan next.
