Frenchman Adrian Mannarino won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the China Open on Thursday.

This was the Frenchman’s 300th tour-level win of his career (300-337) and he becomes the 12th player from France in the Open Era to reach that milestone.

This was the Frenchman’s third win over Sonego in five career meetings. It also marked only his third win over a top 50 player in 14 such clashes in 2024 (two of those have now come against Sonego).
