Chengdu Open: Yi Zhou books spot in second round

Chinese wildcard Yi Zhou reached the second round of the Chengdu Open when Chun-Hsin Tseng retired at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Thursday. Yi Zhou led 2-6, 6-1, 3-1 when Tseng, ranked No 121, pulled out.

The result marked Zhou’s first ATP Tour win. The 19-year-old is a former junior world No 3.

The 19-year-old Chinese will play the winner of the match between qualifier Terence Atmane and No 5 seed Adrian Mannarino next.
