Croat Jana Fett reached the quarter-finals of the Thailand Open 2 after Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 8 seed, withdrew before the match on Thursday.
Gracheva pulled out of the match due to sickness.
Fett, ranked No 129, will face the winner of the match between Slovak Rebecca Sramkova and Pole Magda Linette, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Croat beat Chinese wildcard Saisai Zheng (2-6, 6-3, 6-3).
Gracheva, ranked No 66, won against Australian Taylah Preston (6-1, 6-4) in the previous round.
