Romanian Miriam Bulgaru won against Serb Dejana Radanovic 6-4, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy on Thursday.
Bulgaru, ranked No 202, will face qualifier Alevtina Ibragimova next.
The Romanian defeated Italian lucky loser Nicole Fossa Huergo (6-1, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Radanovic, ranked No 245, won against Lithuanian Justina Mikulskyte (7-6 (5), 6-4).
