Canadian wildcard Marina Stakusic beat Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-2, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Guadalajara Open at the Panamerican Tennis Center on Wednesday night.
Stakusic, ranked No 155, will play top seed Jelena Ostapenko next.
