Belgian Elise Mertens, the top seed, moved into the second round of the Jasmin Open by beating Russian Anastasia Zakharova 6-2, 6-0 at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Tuesday evening.
Mertens, ranked No 32, will face German Eva Lys next.
