Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 7 seed, beat Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 to win the Montreux Nestlé Open trophy on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier in the tournament, Begu, ranked No 130, defeated Swiss Celine Naef (6-0, 6-3), Brazilian Laura Pigossi (6-3, 6-0), Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-3, 6-3) and Latvian Darja Semenistaja (6-1, 6-2).
Marcinko, ranked No 292, defeated American Louisa Chirico (6-1, 6-4), Slovak Veronika Erjavec (6-0, 6-1), Tara Wurth (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 4 seed (6-2, 7-6 (4)) in the previous rounds.
