Guadalajara 125 Open: Rakhimova edges Maria for the title

Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed, won the Guadalajara 125 Open tournament by defeating German Tatjana Maria, the No 4 seed, 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-3 on Saturday.
Ahead of her victory, Rakhimova, ranked No 104, beat qualifier Samantha Murray Sharan (6-3, 6-0), Australian Taylah Preston (6-1, 6-2), Italian Martina Trevisan, the second seed (6-1, 3-1 ret.) and Colombian Emiliana Arango (6-4, 6-2).
Maria, ranked No 99, beat American Kayla Day (7-6 (7), 6-4), Filipino Alexandra Eala (7-5, 6-2), Australian Olivia Gadecki (7-5, 6-0) and Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the top seed (6-0, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
