Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko moved into the final of the Montreux Nestlé Open by beating Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 7-6 (4) on Saturday.
Marcinko, ranked No 292, will play Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 7 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 18-year-old Croat won against American Louisa Chirico (6-1, 6-4), Slovak Veronika Erjavec (6-0, 6-1) and Tara Wurth (3-6, 6-4, 6-4).
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 100, won against Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic (6-0, 6-1), French lucky loser Carole Monnet (6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-2) and Swiss Jil Teichmann (1-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous rounds.
