Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut reached the second round of the US Open by winning against Italian Luca Nardi 7-5, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Monday.
Bautista Agut, ranked No 67, will play American Ben Shelton, the No 13 seed, next.
