Winston-Salem Open: Safiullin cruises past tricky Moutet

Roman Safiullin, the No 17 seed, reached the last 16 of the Winston-Salem Open by winning against Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-1, 7-5 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

Safiullin, ranked No 59, will play American wildcard Christopher Eubanks next.

Moutet, ranked No 68, beat Colombian lucky loser Nicolas Mejia (7-6 (5), 6-1) in the previous round of the Winston-Salem tournament.
