Australian Aleksandar Vukic defeated Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 4 seed, 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-1 to reach the last 16 of the Winston-Salem Open at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Monday night.

Vukic, ranked No 94, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko, the No 13 seed, and Spanish wildcard Pablo Carreno Busta next.

Ahead of his victory, the Australian won against Daniel Evans (2-6, 6-4, 6-1).
