Western & Southern Open: Shnaider through to last 16

Russian Diana Shnaider reached the last 16 of the Western & Southern Open by winning against American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger 7-5, 6-0 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Cincinnati on Thursday evening.
Shnaider, ranked No 20, will play Canadian Leylah Fernandez next.
The 20-year-old Russian defeated Chinese Shuai Zhang (6-1, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Cincy Open, Krueger, ranked No 65, beat Croat Donna Vekic, the No 16 seed (5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-2).
