Amanda Anisimova won against No 8 seed Emma Navarro 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Toronto Masters at the Aviva Centre on Sunday evening.

Anisimova, ranked No 132, will face the winner of the match between Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 14 seed, and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, next.

In the previous rounds of the Rogers Cup, Amanda Anisimova defeated Caroline Dolehide (6-1, 6-4), Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-3), Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 10 seed (6-2 ret.) and Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed (6-4, 6-2).

Navarro, ranked No 15, beat Pole Magda Linette (6-2, 6-4), Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 11 seed (7-5, 7-5) and lucky loser Taylor Townsend (6-3, 7-6 (5)) earlier in the tournament.
