Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 3 seed, won against Croat Lea Boskovic 6-1, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Hamburg European Open on Wednesday.
Rus, ranked No 101, will face Russian Polina Kudermetova next.
Ahead of her victory, the 33-year-old Dutchman defeated Suzan Lamens (6-1, 6-4).
Boskovic, ranked No 168, won against German Mona Barthel (5-7, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
