Polish Open: Parks lifts the trophy
Alycia Parks won the tournament on Saturday against Maya Joint
American qualifier Alycia Parks beat Australian Maya Joint, the No 5 seed, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to win the Polish Open trophy on Saturday.
Parks, ranked No 124, defeated Polish lucky loser Ania Hertel (6-3, 4-6, 6-1), Linda Klimovicova (6-2, 6-3), Bulgarian Isabella Shinikova (7-5, 6-2) and Swiss Leonie Kung (7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Joint, ranked No 159, defeated Croat Antonia Ruzic (5-7, 6-2, 6-3), Serb Nina Stojanovic (6-3, 2-6, 6-1), Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze (6-0, 6-4) and Pole Maja Chwalinska (6-2, 2-6, 6-0).
