Hall of Fame Open: Giron knocks out Paire to reach quarter-finals
Marcos Giron edged out Benoit Paire 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 on Thursday evening and will play Australian qualifier Alex Bolt in the next round

American Marcos Giron, the second seed, edged out Frenchman Benoit Paire 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Hall of Fame Open at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum.
Giron, ranked No 46, will face Australian qualifier Alex Bolt next.
In the previous round of the Newport tournament, Paire, ranked No 227, edged out American Zachary Svajda (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4)).
