Hamburg Open: Martinez beats Blanchet to reach quarter-finals
Pedro Martinez edged out Ugo Blanchet 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 on Wednesday. He’ll play Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, in the next round

Spaniard Pedro Martinez advanced to the last eight of the Hamburg Open by edging out French qualifier Ugo Blanchet 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center.
Martinez, ranked No 49, will play Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, next.
The Spaniard defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi, the No 6 seed (7-6 (4), 6-1) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Hamburg tournament, Blanchet, ranked No 161, won against Australian Alexei Popyrin (4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2).
