Hamburg Open: Altmaier defeated in first round

Italian Flavio Cobolli won against German Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Hamburg Open at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center on Monday.

Cobolli, ranked No 48, will play the winner of the match between Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild and Chinese Zhizhen Zhang, the No 8 seed, next.
