Colombia’s Emiliana Arango, the No 6 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Grand Est Open 88 by winning against German lucky loser Caroline Werner 6-1, 6-1 on Thursday evening.
Arango, ranked No 122, will play Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Colombian defeated Swiss qualifier Conny Perrin (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
Caroline Werner beat Lithuanian Justina Mikulskyte (3-6, 6-2, 6-0) in the previous round.
