Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Grand Est Open 88 by edging out Belarusian lucky loser Iryna Shymanovich 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 on Tuesday.

Pigossi, ranked No 110, will play Chinese lucky loser Xinyu Gao next.
