Mallorca Open: Ofner beats Jubb to reach final
Sebastian Ofner defeated Paul Jubb 6-4, 7-5 on Friday evening. He’ll face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 4 seed, in the final
Austrian Sebastian Ofner moved into the final of the Mallorca Open by beating qualifier Paul Jubb 6-4, 7-5 at Mallorca Country Club.
Ofner, ranked No 54, will face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Austrian won against Spaniard Jaume Munar (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4)), Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 5 seed (6-3, 7-5) and American Alex Michelsen (3-6, 7-5, 6-3).
Jubb, ranked No 289, defeated German qualifier Maximilian Marterer (6-1, 6-2), Australian qualifier Adam Walton (6-0, 6-3) and American Ben Shelton, the top seed (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (8)) earlier in the tournament.
