Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 5 seed, won against Spaniard Pedro Martinez 7-5, 7-5 to reach the second round of the Mallorca Open at Mallorca Country Club on Monday.
Darderi, ranked No 37, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Jaume Munar and Austrian Sebastian Ofner next.
