Queen’s: British wildcard Harris reaches first ATP quarter-final
Billy Harris beat Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday afternoon and will face the winner of the match between American Brandon Nakashima and Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the next round
Wildcard Billy Harris reached the quarter-finals of an ATP Tour event for the first time as he beat French qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 6-4, 7-5 in the cinch Championships at London’s Queen’s Club on Thursday afternoon.
Harris, ranked No 162, will face the winner of the match between American Brandon Nakashima and Italian Lorenzo Musetti next.
In the previous round of the Queen’s tournament, Billy Harris won against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).
Mpetshi Perricard, ranked No 67, defeated American Ben Shelton, the No 6 seed (6-3, 7-6 (3)) during the first round of the Queen’s tournament.
