Halle Open: Giron advances to second round, defeats Rublev
Marcos Giron defeated Andrey Rublev 6-4, 7-6 (5) on Tuesday. He’ll play the winner of the match between Italian Matteo Berrettini and American qualifier Alex Michelsen in the next round

American Marcos Giron moved into the second round of the Halle Open by winning against Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 4 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (5) at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Tuesday.
Giron, ranked No 53, will play the winner of the match between Italian Matteo Berrettini and American qualifier Alex Michelsen next.
