German wildcard Dominik Koepfer moved into the second round of the Halle Open when Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 8 seed, retired at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Monday.
Koepfer, ranked No 70, led 6-4, 4-3 when Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 18, pulled out at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Monday.
The German will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Arthur Fils and Tomas Machac next.
