Australian qualifier James Duckworth reached the last eight of the Stuttgart Open by beating American Ben Shelton, the second seed, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3 at Tennisclub Weissenhof Stuttgart.
Duckworth, ranked No 101, will face Italian Matteo Berrettini next.
The Australian defeated French qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert (6-4, 7-6 (2)) ahead of his victory.
